Fresh Cut Flowers

All flowers are grown in Esther’s cutting garden in southern Vermont.Planting of seeds, plugs and tubers starts in early spring and continues through summer. Each plant is being tended to carefully and lovingly so it can reach its fullest potential.We use organic materials and methods for growing our flowers. Our cutting gardens attract large populations of song birds, honey- and bumblebees, hummingbirds, monarch butterflies and many other beautiful pollinators.This enriches not only the ecosystem that we are an intricate part of but also our inner landscape by bringing inspiration, wonder and awe to our hearts and lives!

At Sacred Springs Blumen we focus on cultivating heirloom (non-hybrid, non-gmo, open pollinated strains) varieties like sweet peas, italian violas, cosmos, corn cockle, nasturtiums, larkspur…to name a few. We love old fashioned/antique flowers that carry in them the resilience of our ancestors and provide us with seed for the next generations to come.

Research tells us that flowers have a remarkable healing ability! The mere presence of flowers triggers a release of dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin in the human brain. These neurotransmitters are associated with pleasure, love and happiness.”Flower gazing”/ simply looking at and being in the presence of flowers raises our frequency and is linked to improved cognitive function, reduced anxiety and stress, improved sleep quality, lower blood pressure, reduced pain levels, increased creativity and social interaction as well as stronger feelings of compassion for oneself and others! This therapeutic service that flowers gift to us is just as valuable as their incredible beauty, uniqueness and resilience. In silence they transmit to us a sense of safety, awe and love for life!
